Home Tour 2015 The Dining Area and Kitchen

Happy Official First Day of Fall Everyone!

I can’t think of a catchy segway into todays tour, except something like “Let’s Fall into the Dining Area” (see…not so amazing) 🙂

Anywho, Spencer took so many great detail pictures of the kitchen that this post might be a bit of a photo mosaic.

Breaking the livingroom, dining area and kitchen into three separate posts is kind of silly because in reality it is one big continuous room.

Dining Area:

Moving past the livingroom brings us to the area where we have our dining table.  I love this table. I purchased it from World Market probably 8-10 years ago. It came with 6 chairs and two leaves and  I think I paid about $500 for it. Best purchase ever. It still looks as good as the day I bought it.

And can I brag about that chandelier a little? Okay, thanks. I purchased that from World Market also. See the pendant lights hanging over the island? There was a matching 5 piece chandelier over the table originally. I liked it, but I didn’t love it and I LOVE this Metal Orb Chandelier. It added that little something more to the area setting it apart with a statement piece.

You may have also noticed my black and white houndstooth rug under the table. This is a purchase from RUGSUSA.com. We have lived in this house for 13 months as of this posting and I think that is the third rug from RUGSUSA.com that I have purchased and used under the table. I always wait until their 80% off and free shipping sale to buy something different. Their selection has something for everyone and I have never been disappointed by the quality. What happens to those previous rugs you wonder? They always find a home in someone’s new apartment or new house or get moved to different room in our house. 🙂

The Kitchen:

This is where the photo mosaic comes in. Let me describe the kitchen and then you can look around.

In the center of the room is a large 4ft by 5ft island with a one piece granite top. If I had to guess, I would guess that the granite is called Tropical Brown. This same granite was used for the countertops and the desk top.

All of the cupboards are hickory with oil rub bronze hardware. It is a lot of brown which is why if you remember from this post, I painted the hickory base underneath the island. 🙂

There is a corner walk-in pantry and stainless steel appliances throughout.

Take a peek.

I hope you enjoyed touring around! See you Friday!
