Easy Exciting New Valentine Heart Stuff Project

by | Feb 5, 2016 | DIY

Who ever said, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks”?

My husband is a wonderful, kind, caring and brilliant man. But, he doesn’t have a romantic bone in his body.

I was teasing him the other day about this fact and he agreed. 🙂

And then he proved me wrong.

Wade was out of town on business. He texted Jack later in the week and asked him to run an errand for him after school.

Jack rushed home from school and in one big breath told me he had to run into town to do some errands, then, he was going to come home, grab a brownie mix and go over to a friend’s house. He had a plan and was in a hurry. Okay, see ya later!

I didn’t give it another thought. Jack always has some kind of a plan and as long as he was safe and happy, all was good.

An hour or so later Jack returns home, comes flying into the living room all excited and hands these to me.

They were from Wade.

He was thinking about me. He misses me. He loves me.

So romantic. 🙂

Yesterday Thistlewood Farms had a great post titled, Easy Valentine Heart Project and Bower Power had a post titled, Exciting New Stuff.

I combined the two posts. Easy, Exciting, New Valentine Heart Stuff Project.  Creative, right? 🙂

Karianne from Thistlewood Farms made a cute heart with a saying around it. Katie from Bower Power used fresh flowers and photographed them. They both framed their work.

Here’s how I combined the two projects and made a happy mistake at the end.

Supplies:

  • White Board
  • Pencil
  • Small spongy white letters
  • Small sparkly dots
  • Fresh rose petals from romantic husband
  • Patience
  • FedEx Print it App

First I cut out a heart and traced it onto the white board.

I choose the phrase He Loves Me and placed it around the outer edges of the heart.

And then I painstakingly added every one of those sparkly dots to complete the shape of the heart.

After sacrificing one of the three roses, I placed the fresh petals inside the heart.

This picture was taken with my Iphone6S. I uploaded the photo to the FedEx Print It app. They have a great app that is super easy to use.

Within minutes FedEx called to confirm my order and let me know that it would be done that same afternoon.

As soon as they called I drove to town and picked it up. In all honesty, I thought I was ordering just a picture that I would then have to frame. But it was actually a photo on a 10×10 black edged styrofoam block. If I would’ve practiced just a little more patience, I would probably have read what I was actually ordering. 🙂

Regardless, my happy mistake was perfect! Better than I had hoped!

Now when my romantic husband is out of town, all I have to do is look at my fresh flowers picture and remember…He loves me.

See you tomorrow,

Wendy
