Smooth Sailing

I ran to the end of the dock to take the picture above. When I got to the end of the dock, I realized that there was no reason to rush. Our neighbor was out sailing, relaxing and enjoying a sunny day.

Going wherever the wind took him.

Wade had been traveling all week and we wanted to do nothing but hang out together, so we adopted the neighbors wherever the wind takes us attitude.

There is an annual swap meet and flea market that covers over 40 acres. What could be more fun than walking around on a warm sunny day. One mans junk is another mans treasures.

Driving an hour and fifteen minutes south of the Cities, we landed in LeSueur, Minnesota.

There were tables of stuff.

There were piles of buckets, layers of wooden signs and doors and hundreds of tractor seats.

Row after row.

They were all similar. Yet each vendor was somehow a little bit unique.

Except for this one.

The first time I walked by this vendor display, I was in awe. There was a man sitting behind the items for sale but he stayed in his chair, in the background while I took pictures.

I continued on, enjoying other vendors items and catching up to Wade. The first thing he said was,

“I want to show you something. You have to see this.”

We ended up back here, talking with Max. Max K.

Max came forward, teasing me by asking, “Are you going to buy something this time or take more pictures?”

So I asked him if I could take his picture. And then I bought this.

The sweetest little 2 inch outhouse.

And I realized why I was drawn to it.

After talking with Max about his craft and life, I realized that like Max, the outhouse was rough around the edges but soft on the inside.

Gotta love bathroom humor.

Have a great week,

Wendy
