Sidenote Saturday: Saturday Swag

Sidenote Saturday: Saturday Swag

Wade and I have Estate Sales to go to this morning, so this little post will be quick and painless. 🙂

Remember these boxes I bought from my sister in-law Mara?

This is what I did with them.

Sometimes I even amaze myself how my vision comes to life!

I only have two of them and they are for sale in the shop here.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and find something at the Estate Sales that will top these.

Have a fun Saturday. I hope you stop by on Monday.

Sidenote Saturday: Making A List, Checking It Twice…

Sidenote Saturday: Making A List, Checking It Twice…

I posted yesterday that we had not bought one Christmas gift yet, not one.

Well people, that statement is history!!!!!

Wade and I made a list, checked it twice because the song says you are supposed too and headed into town last night.

We knocked it out in 2 hours, 4 stops and still had time to drive the long way home and enjoy the Christmas lights!

But wait, after so many exclamation marks in one post, I have to confess that Jack, our 17 year old did not get things checked off of his list.

He wants things like a mother board key pad mouse and gaming chair thing. That’s not exactly right, but that was my take away when he started with the technical lingo. Wade’s mission today is to find…whatever it is Jack said.  🙂

The Etsy shop is in full swing/overdrive this time of the year and I love it. The constant humming of my sewing machine and drill press are a dream come true. I feel like one of Santa’s little helpers.

The down side of being in overdrive is that my studio gets so, so unorganized.

It was time. It was time to tidy things up and make it more efficient.

Here is the view of a busy studio. Warning: May hurt your eyes.

Here is the studio now, pictures taken from the same angle. Much better, right? Right.

Studio organized, Christmas gift purchased. Now to wrap everything. Tis the season!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I made a new friend on Friday. I’ll tell you about it on Monday.

Sidenote Saturday: Christmas Trees and Housekeeping

Sidenote Saturday: Christmas Trees and Housekeeping

Happy Saturday!

Do you realize that in only three short weekends, Christmas 2015 will be in the history books. Time flies when you’re having fun!

I am back at the tree lot this weekend helping customers find the perfect tree for their home!

Okay, that’s my perfect tree and it’s fake but yea, it’s perfect for us.  🙂

The real tree lot will be so busy this weekend!  The smell of pine never gets old.

The welcomed heat in my little shack office is loved and expressed by all!

There are new trees delivered every night and the little tree elves unload, organize and display all of them for the next round of Perfect Tree Hunters.

Housekeeping Tidbits:

Thank you to all that have subscribed to Old Lake George! It warms my heart that we get to connect!

Also, I typically post on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. But sometimes I toss in extra posts because I am not good at being patient.  🙂

Happy Tree Hunting!

See you on Monday,

Wendy

Sidenote Saturday: Table setting by Miss Mustard Seed

Sidenote Saturday: Table setting by Miss Mustard Seed

You made it! Not only to Old Lake George, but past yesterday, Friday the 13th!

I don’t consider myself superstitious, but the mention of the 13th being on Friday, is always a little creepy. 🙂

What isn’t creepy, at all, is Thursday’s post from Miss Mustard Seed!

She is presenting a table setting in DC this weekend.

I was so excited to see a table decorated in a similar table runner that I sell in my shop! Great Minds think alike!

Check out her blog post and then compare her runner to this one.

Both look great!

Have a happy Saturday the 14th! 🙂

See you Monday,

Wendy

By the way if you love the opening picture, it is also available here.

On Thursday, Alyssa and Liam delivered more rustic signs for the shop!

Liam is 4 months old and the happiest baby. He will break into a smile and giggles…until I try to take a picture of him. Maybe he heard Kim Kardashian say something to the effect that smiling creates wrinkles. 🙂  It seems to work for him. I don’t see any wrinkles or crow’s feet. Note to self. 🙂

Anyway, Alyssa has been creating more fun rustic signs for the shop. Ho, Ho, Ho and NOEL and JOY and Merry Christmas are now available to decorate your home or send as a holiday gift to someone else.

And how could I not share a picture of Liam’s big brother Logan.  #cutebabiesforthewin

Have a smiley and giggley Saturday!

See you on Monday,

Wendy

Sidenote Saturday: Old Lake George meets Hollywood

Sidenote Saturday: Old Lake George meets Hollywood

I got up late yesterday morning. Not that I technically, ever intentionally get up early, but yesterday morning I overslept.

I always feel a little guilty. And then I quickly get over it. 🙂

Feeling behind the eight ball already, I jumped into my morning routine and starting swipping through my emails.

Communication thru Etsy is via a Conversation. I had an email showing that an Etsy conversation was waiting for me to be reviewed.

The conversation was from the Art Director/Production Designer of the FYI Network called “He Shed/She Shed”. They are renovating a shed for a guy named Joey who is a full-time musician currently working in coffee shops. She asked to trade some burlap Dunn Brothers coffee pillow covers to be displayed on the sofa. In exchange, a Thank You credit for OldLakeGeorge.com would be at the end of the episode.

I did a little research, exchanged a few more detailed conversations and it looks like we will be working together!

How exciting! I will keep you posted as things develop.

This oversleeping thing just might become a habit.  🙂

See you on Monday,

Wendy
